NBCDH-June 18, 2020 Memo- Update on directives/Entry to practice competencies review

This message is to provide the latest update on the previous directives issued May 20,     2020 by the NBCDH and to provide some information on the latest review for our  national entry to practice competency review:

1)The NBCDH has continuously been monitoring the developments on the SARS-Covid 2 pandemic, reviewing the most recent research and information. It is well established that SARS-CoV 2 is still considered a serious pandemic and that all dental hygienists need to proceed with caution when providing services. It must also be understood that there is still a lot of unknowns on the virus, its transmission, and its impact on the dental environment.

In this latest update, the NBCDH is taking a risk mitigating and layered approach to dental hygiene care.

All dental hygienists are required to read this latest update and ensure their adherence to these directives when providing dental hygiene services.

Note that this latest document is to be used as an addition to the previous document since some directives have not been duplicated.
